Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are the most common dermal fillers available. Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary. They are a gel-like substance that add structure, contour, or volume to the face. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that contributes to skin hydration by its unique ability to retain water.

Each hyaluronic acid dermal filler has a different longevity. When the area of concern is treated to optimal correction, results can last on average six to twelve months. You can discuss expectations with your injector during the consultation portion of your appointment. In general, if the area has been treated to optimal correction and looks good, there is no need to refill the area on a schedule.

Depending on the area of the face being injected, you can expect a few to several injection points. Topical numbing may be applied depending on the area being injected. Results are noticeable after injection. There is potential for swelling and bruising.
